   It's an issue

I don't do this often, take a look at my history here and you'll see very few meme's. What's worse, is this is going to show my politics. But it's an issue. It's a big issue. Because it hits at the heart of our culture. It asks the question are we group orriented or individual orriented? Are we a community that listens to a few leader's beliefs or do we find our own and choose our communtiy and leaders from there? Are we willing to let a few people tell the rest of us what to believe.

The issue of abortion asks all these questions because those are the lines along which we have devided. For the record, I agree with this paragraph:

I would have an abortion. The circumstances under which I would, might, have, or might have chosen to have an abortion are nobody's business but mine and those I choose to tell. They are not the business of any government. I do not accept the proposition that the state and/or my sexual partner(s) should have any say over when and if I choose to bear a child. I do not accept any sovereignty over my body and my reproductive organs but my own. If faced with the situation, I will do everything feasible to help other women and girls I know exercise their rights to safely terminate a pregnancy if they so choose. When a state treats women and girls as chattel, it is they that commit a crime.

If you agree, please place the preceding paragraph in your journal. Then use the following link to send a message to South Dakota's governor: Planned Parenthood's take action page. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/pp2/portal/getinvolved/takeaction/ And thanks.

   Happy days

Sweetie got a job today. I can't give you all the specifics, but it is a real job, with hourly pay, doing what he loves best. I'm floating about two inches off the floor right now (and I'm sure Sweetie is bumping his head on the ceiling). We've been waiting for this day for a long time. If this is a dream I forbid you from waking me up.

In other news -

work is still stressful and rumors are abundant - to fill in the gaps where real information is missing. School is still fun, but a lot of work. The video camera and I are getting to know each other very well. I've discovered that teachers really like to recieve my homework on CD (which is good because it's easier to transfer to CD, and easier to do the self analysis from CD and generally just a better medium to work in). Too bad the rest of the students in my class don't have access to the tech it takes to do that. I finished a rough draft and am looking forward to spring break to edit the story and will maybe be able to post it on OWW for the second half of the semester (there's no chance that I'll be able to look at the crits during that time).
