I got smucked in the back of the head by my muse last night. She's running a little behind schedule this year. Usually she hits me the instant my last final is over. I guess she decided that I deserved a little break from accademic type activities for a little while.
Anyway, I have a new story started - currently titled "The Lady of Swords". I've gotten approximately 1,500 words in so far, but it's all dreck. First drafts usually are. That's why no-one ever gets to see them - including Sweetie. At least this way, all the characters get introduced and I get an idea of what they are going to be doing for the duration of the story.
The young lovers have had their first tryst with the blessing of the father, the villans have shown up and have started putting thier mark on things, the agent of change has also entered the mix. Now it's just a matter of getting them all stirred up and seeing what happens.
So I suspect that I will be up late for the next couple of nights until the whole story has unfolded. Meanwhile my life continues as busy as usual - I have meetings tonight and tomorrow night, and I'm sure we have plans for the weekend, but I can't think of what right now. I guess I'm just not destined to get any sleep.
