   Chaos, total Chaos

Well the holidays are almost over, and they have managed to be just as chaotic as ever - more so even in some cases. Here's a brief run down of the chaos that graced my life over the last couple of weeks. (Please note some of this will be a repeat from earlier posts, but it all comes together to make chaos)

* Graduation - Dec 18. My brother graduated with a BS in Forestry and I get to play jungle gym for my Niece. During all that climbing around she left a few germs on me that grew up into a nice cold.

* Work - Dec 20. I wasn't feeling so good, but went to work anyway and that was a mistake. If I had stayed in bed I might have avoided the worst of the cold that my Niece gave me.

* Yule - Dec 21. I had agreed to lead a ritual, so I was on despite the fact that my cold was trying it's best to drag me down. I skipped work and spent as much of the day in bed as I could.

* Cookie Exchange - Dec 22. Back to work still doped on drugs and herbs trying to keep my cold in check, and not wanting to have to make up for 2 days gone on Thursday. Not to mention I had signed up for the cookie exchange at work. But since I'd skipped work on Tuesday, I didn't have the sheet that told me how many cookies to bring. So I grabbed a big container of shortbreads and hoped it was enough. It was, but I was also supposed to devide them into baggies of 6 cookies each and include a copy of the recipie in each bag. Oops oh well.

* Outing to OCB - Dec 23. My cold was finally getting better just in time to join our clients on the anual outing to the Old Country Buffet. Now if only the rest of the staff had been on top of things it would have been fine. I did my part - making up 2 copies of the all client list to use as sign-in sheets for the busses and calling ahead to remind OCB that we were coming. But the staff forgot to take attendance on the busses - in fact they forgot to get on the busses at all and the clients convinced on driver to leave before we were ready. So when we arrived at OCB we don't have an accurate count to give them - that's OK they managed to forget that we were coming anyway (despite my phone call earlier). Eventually we got it all figured out, paid for and everyone ate too much.

* The Eye of the Storm - Dec 24. Nothing happening today except wrapping presents. Too bad I forgot about that part until after 11:00.

* Christmas (AKA the anual paper fight) - Dec 25. Depsite waking 2 hours early and having everything ready the night before, Sweetie and I still don't manage to leave for Hudson until 11:15. So we arrived at my Brother's house just after noon and missed watching the kids open their stockings - presents were saved until all had arrived. Mom was dissappointed that we had left our dog at home, but we decided that we had made the right choice when the drum set came out and Nephew gave us all a preview of him as a rock star. Sweetie spent a large part of the day setting up Mom and Brother's wireless network only to discover that he had sent Mom's present to the wrong email address (we were able to recover it and send it on, but mom couldn't play the game on Christmas). Mom's present to me also relied on a working internet connection and a remembered Pay Pal password. Too bad mom couldn't remember the password. After many attempts to retrieve the password, I ended up paying for my present with my paypal account and she gave me a check to cover the expense (It's the thought that counts). After a lovely dinner, I took mom's dog for a walk only to discover that the hill I started off going down go steeper when I turned around to come back up.

* The Sims 2 - Dec 26. We got home too late on the 25th to install the game right away, so I woke early to get started on Sunday. Except the game refused to install on my laptop. So I installed it on Sweetie's computer and started playing while he attempted to get it installed on my computer. Many trips up and down the stairs later and disks transferred from one to another and all was set. In the afternoon Sweetie dragged me away from the computer to take the dog shopping. We picked up cat and dog treats and let Uno sniff his way around Petco - I think that he wants a lizard for a pet. Once home I handed the catnip to Tony who promply got high. Uno got one of his treats too. Then I kissed Sweetie goodbye and dove into the game.

*Recovery - Dec 27. No work today, just Sims. Tony is still high on cat nip, Uno keeps asking for another treat and Sweetie is doing something on his computer

I wonder what we are going to do about New Years?
