   Memories

Lately I've been remembering my childhood. Specifically having my mom wash my hair. My hair has always needed lots of washing (and being the messy child that I was only made it more so). I have fond memories of bath time. I've always loved playing in the water and we had enough bath toys to make that even more fun. And when it came time to wash my hair, mom would take a cup and carefully poor warm water over my head while I held a wash cloth over my face to keep the soap out of my eyes. Then she'd mush the shampoo into my hair (and usually put a little daub of bubbles on my nose). Then with the wash cloth back in place, she used cups of warm water to rinse the shampoo back out.

Now, it has come to pass that I am again having my hair washed in this fashion. This time though, it is not my mom, but Sweetie who is pooring warm water over my hear. The reason for this? Well first, I managed to cut my thumb while attempting to cut a bagel. It wasn't a deep cut, but more like a paper cut (lots of pain little blood and now a little flap of dying skin that likes to catch on anything and everything). So I can't really wash my own hair with out making that cut worse. And then there is the variable water temperature in our shower. In the bath tub the temperature is just fine, but send it to the shower and you'll get scalded then frozen before you can jump out of the way. So using the shower is right out. That pretty much leaves us with the bath and cup of water method.

I'm just lucky that I have found such a patient Sweetie who will do such things for me.

Hi Becca:

If you look at the links at the top of your page, you'll see that you've mis-spelled jewelry...

This was a public service tip-off from a nomadic pedant!

(Hope the cut heals soon).
